ATTENDANCE POLICY

It should be noted that a student of TVBS & C is expected to be punctual and display character worthy of a representative of our Saviour. The student alone is responsible for the communication involved in absences, not only to the professors, but to the Academic Dean if needed. The burden of information belongs to the student in the following policy.

  1. All students taking a course, regardless of classification, are expected to attend all scheduled classes.
  2. A student is allowed four (4) absences per semester without penalty if no exam is involved. If an exam is involved, it may be made up at the discretion and convenience of the Professor. Any exam not made up by the allotted time will be given a grade of "0".
  3. The professor should be apprised of any planned absence and all course work must be made up by purchasing the class time tape from the office.
  4. Upon the fifth (5th) absence, without recourse to TVBS & C, or refund of any tuition or fees, the student will automatically receive "FA" (failure due to absence) and be dismissed from the class.

NOTE: In case of extenuating circumstances, a written report consisting of expected date of absence, reason of absence, and approval of the appropriate professor must be submitted to the Academic Dean before admission to the next class. The report must consist of :

  1. If due to illness, a written doctor’s excuse stating student was under his care for the date in question.
  2. If due to church function, a written statement from the pastor confirming your attendance
  3. If due to a death in the family, a written verification from the funeral home confirming your attendance.

NOTE: Material missed due to absence must be acquired by purchasing a tape of the lecture at a cost of $5.00 per lecture.
