GRADING SYSTEM

Grades are issued after final examinations. The grading system for all students is as follows:

Grade per hour Grade Points

  1. A Superior 4
  2. B Above Average 3
  3. C Average 2
  4. D Passing 0
  5. F Failing 0
  6. P Passing No calculation

TVBS & C operates on a 4.00 grading system. Students may determine their grade point average by dividing the total number of grade points earned by the total number of credit hours attempted. A student must achieve a final grade point average of 2.00 (at least twice as many grade points as credit hours attempted), or higher for all courses he attempts at TVBS & C in order to satisfy the grade point requirement for graduation.

NOTE: No grades will be assigned to a student with an outstanding balance due or having incomplete enrollment records, such as transcripts, reference, etc.

ACADEMIC PROBATION

Any student who receives below a 2.00 grade point average for any given semester will be placed on Academic Probation for the following semester.

DROPS

In order to drop or withdraw from a course without receiving a failing grade, a student must submit a written request to the Registrar in order to obtain approval to drop each class from the President, Executive Director, or Academic Dean of the Seminary. A grade of "WP" (withdrew passing) will be assigned, if all "absentee requirements" are met by the end of the first four weeks of the semester. Courses dropped after this time will show a grade of "WF" (withdrew failing) and will receive the same grade point considerations as an "F". There is a $5.00 drop fee for each course dropped.

INCOMPLETE COURSES

Any course work that is incomplete for any reason must be completed as directed by the professor and turned in for grading at the professors’ discretion and within twenty-one days. Upon passing the twenty-one days (21) after the last regular scheduled class meeting, (the work not being turned in for grading) the student will receive the grade "F" for the course.

REPEATING A COURSE

A student may elect to repeat a course previously taken after receiving the grades "D" or "F" in order to receive credit for that course. The student’s permanent transcript will reflect the course entered a second time and the new grade entered and the grade points averaged as any other course. The first entry and grade of the course will remain the same.
