HISTORY OF TRINITY VALLEY BAPTIST SEMINARY & COLLEGE
In the summer of 1960, a group of Independent Baptist Pastors met
to discuss the founding of a Baptist Training Center that believed the Bible and its
infallible, inerrant truths. Upon the prayerful direction of God, they founded and
organized the Trinity Valley Baptist Seminary. The Seminary has since that time dedicated
itself to upholding the doctrines of the Bible and to the preparation of men and women to
carry its message of salvation and grace to the very ends of the earth.
On September 6, 1960, the first classes were held as a night
school at the South Fort Worth Baptist Temple in Fort Worth. The school continued there
through the following year. It then relocated to its present location in Kennedale, Texas,
south of Fort Worth, having received donated property from Bethel Baptist Church of
Kennedale. Within minutes of any location in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, jobs and homes are
easily accessible by Interstates 20/820.
The Seminary is a Local Church-affiliated Institution, supported
by many churches throughout America. The supporting pastors select the Governing Board of
Trustees. These pastors agree in Philosophy and endorse the Statements of Faith and
practice the enclosed precepts of Christian Fundamentals.
In April of 1982, the Board of Trustees voted to include a
College Curriculum along with its present academics, making all courses available in which
undergraduates could work both on or off campus. Hundreds of graduates who have been
trained by this God-ordained institution of learning now serve God in various locations
throughout the world. |
